Celebrating Rituals and Other Mothers

Dear Wolflings,

In my studies, I have had the privilege of learning and working with many people on many topics. One that rings out to me is Aromatherapy in particular. I love using this oils in all ways that I can, and I have found that many oils in working with the tarot has heightened and intensified my practice.

I am particularly into Basil right now because it is the oil that reminds me of the Mother of Cups. I will be doing a blog soon about the different ways I have been using Basil oil. But I want to talk about an event that I want to celebrate and share with you all.

Michele and Loretta are two women I know, and they are hosting a beginner’s class all about essentials oils, the uses, benefits, and knowledge of where to get good oils, and it ends with everyone making their own dream pillow.

This class is only $17.00, and you are getting some great knowledge about the topic. I want to share and celebrate others in this world who are helping to promote these topics that promote our higher well-being.

Check out the picture below for all the details. Stay Wild Wolflings!

October Cards: The Fire Ant and Justice

20181002_092347

Dearest Wolflings,

We traverse now into some extreme territory, extreme energies, and extreme potentials that could shift the ground. Extreme does not necessarily mean bad, but they do require some intense energy on our part to keep true. The two cards this month are the Fire Ant, and Justice. Let’s get into these cards so we can make October one that honors our higher soul selves.

**I would like to mention here that if honoring your higher soul self is simply getting out of bed, making the coffee, or getting out the door, that is honor. Honoring your higher soul self is doing what you need right now, despite where you are. That is enough wolfling**

The Fire Ant is obviously in the element of fire, and the Fire Ant exists at the base of the elemental pyramid. They represent the smallest amount of consciousness because their main goal is only to follow orders. It makes me think of the movie A BUG’S LIFE. At the beginning the ants are carrying foods towards the rock to give to the grasshoppers. They are at the base of a big tree, and a leaf shakes loose and falls to the ground, blocking the line that the ants follow. An ant freaks out, declaring that he is lost, and cannot find the line. When another ant suggests that they go around the leaf, he says that they cannot do that. They must follow the line.

The ant eventually gives in, but this rigid belief system in order above all else means that little is left for contemplation or discovery. Fire Ants are incredibly thoughtful because they are sensitive and serve the colony, but when triggered they move into mob mentality. Mob Mentality is incredibly dangerous. We need to be able to sense for ourselves what is right, fair, or realistic. It is hard in this time to not get tribal. It is hard to not simply take sides, and we will eventually take sides when we step into the Justice card. But we need to make that choice based on our individual quest for soul evolution and soul honoring, and not based on what those close to us say.

For October, use the sensitive and thoughtful nature of the Fire Ant to sense and feel the warm of others, or the burning of others from opposition or oppression. Use this sensitivity to fuse yourself into life for the greater good and balance of the world.

The Justice card is (in my opinion) one of the hardest cards in the Major Arcana. Yes, even more the Tower. This is because Justice is constantly thought to be a search or a quest for balance. It is this to some extent, but this card is more than just seeking what is right or fair. This card is about how we as stewards for the Earth, the animals, and each other can seek balance and fair settlement even though we as humans are so incredibly flawed. We are messy, and are often outside of the spiritual ecosystem that will feed us, but we must continue to weigh what is fair and true based on our sensitivity that does ebb and flow.

We also must learn and work with the ebbing and flowing of the world. Justice of what is right and fair means that we must often accept loss and heartbreak for the ultimate balance of the cycle. Some people are roaming this earth, enjoying all the nourishment when they do not deserve that freedom. Some people have had every form of loss or opposition thrown at them, despite their good character. Justice is a life-long pursuit towards the empowering rationale of reality and public force and service.

**I will spend the next month pulling images, stories, lyrics, art, and anything that reminds me of these cards. If you think of anything, please share. These cards manifest in so many different ways for people. **

The Bear: New Spiritual Awakening

20180923_102213

The Bear is the first animal in the Earth element. The Bear represents awakening from a deep slumber, arising from a deep chasm into the light. Once the Bear walks out of the depths of darkness and into the fragrant air, a new spiritual opportunity awaits. There is for us, if we dare to think and belief so, a chance for new breath, new nourishment, new cleansing from the streams, new sounds of the trees to vibrate within us. When the Bear walks out into the warm light of Spring, everything can begin again.

The energy of the Bear is slow. They are shaking off months of darkness and spiritual repression. They have cut themselves off from experiencing winter, and instead tuck themselves into the wombs of the Earth to drift into the polarizing world of the subconscious and creature comforts. In this space there is no higher calling. There is no call to action, or need of something to be done. In this space, there is only the immediate needs.

If you feel that you are worn out, unable to follow through on your spiritual path, perhaps seek the energy of the Bear. Remember that it is okay to step into spiritual darkness for a time to rebirth your divine center in time. We are always spiritual beings, but we do not always have to be acting through spirit or engaging with spirit to be wholesome. It is okay to place a dark distance between the future and the spirit. It is okay to step into the body and fulfill creature comforts. It is okay to not produce anything of spiritual substance for a time.

The key is to be mindful of when these changes occur. The Bear does not need to be told when to awaken for spring. The Bear does not need to be told to hibernate through the Winter. The Bear does so through the ancient line of instinctual knowing. We have the same blood in us. Know when to start and begin with Bear energy. When the presence of new growth and spiritual highs are invigorating you to the bone, it is time to step into the light, and begin again.

Be mindful that the body and the spirit are intertwined, but can move at different paces. The divine center in you may be rushing to reach the drinking water, to taste the sweetness of berries again, or to see the sparkle of fish. Do not overwhelm yourself, or place a burden on your spirit. Come back into the body and into your space through movement and intention. Intentionally push yourself a little more each day. Intentionally write down your goals and validate why you can absolutely achieve them. Intentionally move things out that do not serve you. Breathe. Begin again and again.

Much love to you wolfling! Stay wild.

Saturday Reflections: Scorpion and the 3 of Pentacles

Saturday 3.17.2018

“I saw the sun disappear / into mist as it reached / the horizon. And an egret / airborne, circling all / this time” ~ Running by Leslie Ullman

I don’t know about you, but much of my week is spent doing so many things, that I hardly get the time to take a look inward, to reflect on needed remnants from my inner low-tide. If I do get the time, I am hardly useful, except to remind my cats with a good scratch under the chin that they are why I do what I do. The weekends however, are when that silent wind sings out strong in me and I can say the words, much like singing to a forgotten, but beloved song.

I chose two cards to be the catalyst towards my introspection. The cards are the Scorpion and the 3 of Pentacles. One of the first things I look for in cards drawn is comparisons, or differences. The first thing I see in these cards is the difference in elements. The Scorpion card resembles the fire element. Pentacles are of the earth. In the real world, fire and earth do not mix. My stomping ground (Colorado) is constantly besieged with fire warnings in the summer because it is so dry. But fire does fertilize the soil, churns dormant seeds to sprout with the help of sun-fire and needed rain. This tells me that much of the energy will be a trial of fire. New growth can come, but it requires a sacrifice.

The Scorpion is the embodiment of the free-spirit. When this card is pulled it is a reminder to walk our path but hold some defenses. Not all those will admire the strength to walk your line, to live accordingly to your surroundings and spirit. The ones that do admire and hold to this are passionate in their own ways. They see the strength in individuality because they also walk their own fire. A scorpion can live in almost desolate climates, they can survive without food for periods of time, only as long as they have water. As long you have that which nourishes your source, you can survive.

However, the spirit of the Scorpion is one that also brings baggage. Scorpion souls carry the venom of the past, the pain of toxic situations and circumstances. In order to stand in our fire, we must only use that baggage when needed. We must use negative feelings with the attempt to try to heal, and forgive. Is there anything you are carrying that is no longer serving you? How could you turn this into growth? How can you forgive even those words were never mentioned by someone? This is not easy. I know I still struggle with this sometimes. I look to the past to learn, but in true honesty, I am looking to the past because I haven’t found my own healing. This is human. If you can relate, know that you are not alone. And if all I can do here with my business and these words is to state that I believe in you wolf-darling, then I can go to bed fulfilled.

The act of forgiveness and skillfully growing bleeds beautifully into the meaning of the 3 of Pentacles. The 3 of Pentacles brings many things to my mind. One is that of collaboration. The three pentacles from the rudimentary shape of something majestic. Another is the act of starting in different places, but all paths lead to a similar destination. Another is knowing which energy you can honestly give at that point in time. There are times where we do not have to hold the whole spectrum of color. We just have to put our energy out there in a way that contributes to the whole spectrum.

Find your inner free-spirit by surrounding yourself with those who will help bring out the positive or best in you. Become engaged with anything that helps you stand in your fire truthfully. For me, this is often found by just being in my home. When I am home I am reminded of where my growth has gotten me. I try to relieve the baggage by standing naked, surrounding myself with my words of love for my family and my creations. We cannot always start or hold the same energy as the day previously, but we can be honest and say that this is what we have to give today. We cannot retell the past. It is what it is. And even if we cannot start where we wish we could, we can be honest and say that. We do not have to reinvent the wheel of all our situations because of the baggage we carry. But we can be honest, walk our path, and move towards growth.

Letting go: 7 of Cups and Tatsuya

12182017

It feels like the closing of energies and affections begin before the actual dates click down and down. As we get closer to the end of December, what is going to happen in the next couple of weeks perhaps is just going to happen. Maybe this time, full of chaos and height, is actually the perfect time to find some peace of mind. Is there a point where it actually benefits us to stop dwelling on what can be changed or tweaked for the final weeks of December? Is this the time that we should bring in consideration and nod ourselves towards quieting and not gripping?

I would argue this possibility. Sometimes we continue to plunge ourselves into the pressure of creating. We force ourselves to do more in these final weeks that we actually forgo the space to just sit, or (dare I say it) observe with distance. December is a month of leading. Everything is planned, detailed out, purchased and outlined. There is much beauty in this. Memories of sparkling holidays are a gift many do or cannot have. But the strain follows quickly behind. Moments are priceless and fatigue is temporary, but I cannot keep out the thought that even in these frantic weeks, we can still find some control and some release.

There can be a bounty in finding small releases, and focusing more on intentions. With the New Moon energy circling, this is an ample time to reflect and dream. Not all will pan out. Not all intentions are meant to. But as December blurs into the new year, it is a good time to ponder and protect what is sacred at this festive time.

The first card drawn at random is the 7 of Cups. The 7 of Cups tantalizes and draws us in with all the different cups to choose from. In the background is a dark sky with a crescent moon. Now is the time to look into what intentions you wish to follow, even if for a stroll. What actions can you pursue without burning yourself out? Now is a time when everyone is on the brink of burning out regardless, so what actions will keep you centered and secure?

The plethora of possibilities shows that options can be good. They are worth exploring, even if it is only through creative outlets or communication. What is not good is trying to chase each option because they all possess a new, fertile ground. Take a look at what you want to release, or what you want to bring into control. What needs control? What needs expansion? And what just needs to be snuffed out? The 7 of Cups engages our emotional fantasies and options. Already a heightened time, these proclivities can drag us into more emotional distress. This a card about balance. This a time for balance. Find your intentions and draw out the flame, but do not constantly build on something that emotionally is not ready, and may never be.

How we can either help quiet or strengthen these intentions is with the help of Tatsuya. This oracle card means that through all of these, whatever is released or held dear, we must be warriors for ourselves, and the new purposes we beseech. Standing on some of the emotional precipices, we may be surrounded by many, but if they drain our energy we must walk alone. If this time is beautiful, we must champion the space with conviction to engage and perhaps even sacrifice. If this time is hard, we must remind ourselves to not face the dragon, but forge our own flames.

However the end of December meets you, take control over what you can. This could be as small as planning space in the day to reflect and give in to the need for quiet moments and loud thoughts. It could be as big as protecting yourself against certain plans or people that the holiday may be trying to bring together. Release and control. Look at what options you have, and how they serve your incoming year. Have the courage to do what you need, even if it means being scoffed by others. This year has been turbulent, but in the eye of the hurricane there is calm. How can you get into the center?

December thoughts: Phoenix and Fernia

phoenix and fernia.jpg

Hello Wolflings! I hope that the beginning of this final month has reached you well. December is always (at least in my mind) a month of contrasts. It is a time to recharge, refill ourselves with time, slumber, and some good food. However, this is also the time when we need to be the most vigilant. The things in our lives need tending too if we wish to start the new year with a positive set of intentions. I feel that this time of year is full of vibrations and unseen pushes that call into the deep structures of our bones. Our foundations will either be elated with jubious cheer or brim with recollections of what has passed and desire to move beyond our limits.

December is ambivalence. Both the light and darkness come into play, sometimes drawing the energetic art high into the walls of our weaving days. One thing that is certain is that the year is ending. The curtains are slowly closing in, leaving us to reflect on what has been lost or attained in this year-long dance. This is time to look to karma and new energy to bring in. There is a bounty of energy that has followed us like an obedient dog throughout the year and now, with the end in reach, we can look to what we wish to outgrow, change, or what needs some new breath.

The Phoenix brings some much-needed energy to our ending year. The Phoenix, as I am sure everyone knows, speaks to transformations and rising from our dusty ashes. The Phoenix is the surge from the pit, the fist flying in faith that it will subdue or neutralize. With the Phoenix, we have a chance to change the karma and start to manifest a beauty that rises in us, through us, and because of us. The dying days December unfold like fog to heat, releasing any past resentments or fears.

Use the Phoenix to start your transformation. Unfold yourself into a new body. Become more aligned with what your conscious mind is calling for. Find that beauty in yourself. We cannot be stewards for progressive, social, or greater change until we honor what needs to be released in us. Kim Krans notes that the Phoenix resides in the root chakra. This transformation may not be easy. It will take the blood of the Spirit to start such a shift, but now is the time. Now is the time to change our own karmas, and remind our own bodies that we cannot be ruled by fear or by messy words. We were made to be drunk on starlight. We were made in fire and blood.

This transformation is the catalyst for where we place ourselves in the new year. This is where Fernia comes in. Fernia is the untamed, but often overlooked, energy in us. Fernia speaks to expectations and needs. When the foliage becomes overgrown, there are those who seek to push it back. There will be those who find no inspiration because it is not colorful and petal-soft. Fernia is the energy in us that is neither overtly beautiful or outward-bound. This is the energy that thrives in the quiet shade of our silence. This is the energy that is ours, and for those who appreciate our quieter selves. This energy speaks to being comfortable in our individual outlines. It is not meant to please others.

As the end of the month draws in, use Fernia to find the energy that is yours. If others love it, beautiful. But do not bypass your sacred space that is off the beaten path because others find it unattainable. Connect to what in you needs to grow and thrive, and nurture it. Tap into what needs to die so that something else can claim the ground and grow.

December clicks to a close, and these two energies are the start of pulling away from the threads that snag on our heartbeats and our rhythmic emotions. The Phoenix is the reckoning, the call deep in the bones to rise to new potentials. Fernia is the aftermath, the tending to that potential because it can be a beautiful garden. The growth may not be to everyone’s liking, but our karma is the first-born. Our karma is the love that from us can be given to others who choose to walk that path, sit in the same, cool shade. This transformation will cleanse and shake our bodies into something shiny and ready. We will not need to don all the armor because we have strengthened something much bigger. We have shed the weight of what did not serve our fight. For the new year, we do not need to fear the flames because we are the tinder. We do not strive to be flowers because we are an endless jungle.

New Moon: Vulture and the Morrighan

Yesterday, there was a New Moon. This is a time where the darkness folds into itself, breaching the shores of our psyche to find power, to purge what is no longer serving us, and to sit for a moment so we understand what it means to move with a purpose. The New Moon is ample time to brainstorm, to collect your dusty wounds and learn that healing comes with great love and great resilience. The two cards that I have pulled the last two days speak to this cathartic push to start and fill ourselves with the messy bits and brambles of life. They are there. The chaotic chemical formula of our day to day will always be there. The question is: how do we take the normal, frugal breaths and turn them into something that rolls through our experiences and refreshes our strengths?

new moon spread november 2017

The Vulture is a Vegas sign for the misunderstood, the preconceived, and the necessary. Vultures can find nourishment and sustenance in meat that is discarded, rotted, unsuitable for less resilient animals. They help keep diseases at bay because they can feast on the decaying remnants. They recycle, use all that is available to sustain them. Going through metamorphosis, these birds are a beautiful symbol that we must take what we can with what we have. It would be wonderful if our lives were filled with nothing but comfortable, picturesque scenes of stretching landscapes and extending smiles.

However, life is not always that kind. We must sustain and move with what we have. I actually find something so beautiful about the vulture, real and in metaphor. To find the ability to feel full from what is considered gross, or unusable from others means adapting. It means finding the strength in us to dig straight to bone and bedrock. This is not always pleasant. Others may even gawk because they are consistently never satisfied with anything less than something pleasurable, or social-media worthy. I find this to be false, and unfair. We cannot always be engaged in the appeasing. We must be able to tear away the foundation to unleash a ghost. These new boundaries, these cleansings shed our forms and give us new lines to shadow in our shape.

Free stock photo of bird, animal, beak, outdoors

The Morrighan is the goddess of transitions. It is through her poetic hands that we must submit, falling like sand to build a rudimentary mountain. Because she follows the Vulture, she is the helper in our transitional purge. In this time, while the darkness has its fill, we must take action and start to understand what needs to be purged. Moving with a purpose is the only way we can get to that light that is promised from the Moon. Now is the time to take note of what needs to end, or symbolically die so we are free for a rebirth.

We do not need to know all of the answers right now. Knowing that we are in the midst of a transition while it can feel like we are only lost can shatter our thoughts or hopeful gains. Morrighan tells us that while it is a natural urge to call back those old hurtful losses or memories, it will not serve us. We cannot expect to fulfill our unique prophecies if we do not take action to find what the words mean. Purging and moving forward means that there is some work to be done in this quiet time. We must know what is the first step, clear the path by using the tools we have to pave a way and submitting to the cycle. This is a new turn. We are in the sonata. There is new music coming, but we can only meet it with a vigorous ability to adapt and find the way.

**Thank you for reading. This is a strange time, but if we use what we have no matter where we are at, we will see a Full Moon swiftly come. Morrighan teaches us to let go, and move through our transitions. We are no longer the same people. Please let me know how these cards read for you. Cards of the week: 8 of Pentacles and the Wild Huntress

20170926_130603
“Besides, the world isn’t split into good people and death eaters. We’ve got both light and dark inside us.” ~ Sirius Black

Now that we have taken a moment to look inward to gaze at the context of our guides, and how they gently shaped our forms with metaphors that felt like fingers, it is time to look at what we are invested in, and what needs our attention. There is a duality in each of us. We carry both light and shadow. In order to fully accomplish any task set before us, to truly meet anything with integrity, we must first become wholesome in our extremes.

The 8 of Pentacles is all about our skills, and how we can effectively finesse something from the bare bones of raw needs to nourish and sustain ourselves. Each of us weaves our own lives. Our web would not function if we placed all of our attention to one side, and neglected other. It would fail to nourish us, fail to sustain ourselves against the threats of others. The web we weave defines our survival. We can only be authentically whole. If we dry ourselves of desire or conscious, we will always be weaker, unable to strengthen our structures. That is where the Wild Huntress comes in.

She contains both light and purity. She fights for those who need it; she stands up to the ones who would wreck and ruin the magic of many. But this comes at a price. To effectively create this change, she must step into the shadows. She must think and feel as a hunter in order to protect the hunted. She may be ostracized by those who only see the darkness, who refuse to understand its purpose. But in her organic wholeness, she is free. She is unchained by others who expect her to stay in line. As a trailblazer in the shadows, she makes more room for the light.

The 8 of Pentacles and the Wild Huntress both speak to finesse and entirety. The little details, the small tracks, and traces of skill are what allow the completion of ourselves. When we fine-tune both our shadows and our light, we can achieve great things. We are not one without the other. We cannot be only light or only shadow. To be that way would unhinge us, send us into the preserve as nothing more than prey. To be only light would indicate conformity. To be only shadows would be self-serving. But, a combination between the two would let us be free to live well and to not feel guilty when we need to sever ties with what is no longer serving us.

Cards of the week: 4 of Swords and The Elder

20170919_095055

“I know you wait for me / at a place I am always seeking. / You are as real as the changelings / in my favorite books, have the tenderness / of the sea on a calm day, and all / the patience of the long invisible.” ~ Linda Pastan In an Unaddressed Envelope

As the seasons change, and the air becomes chilled with the bones of harvesting, it is a good time to take a step back and revisit ourselves. This is an important time to remember what guidance has brought us here. The small voices in our heads produce such a shattering echo. These voices are the ones that found us in a quiet corner of a loud world. They could be familiar, soft as a mother’s hum, or as wild as the sound of trees. Whatever stirred these voices towards our small, dark chambers in not important. As the landscape is woven into gold, it is a good time to reflect on these voices with a calm vibration.

The sweet lamb is completely unencumbered by the dangerous swords that loom so close, almost whispering the strength in their flowing edges. Instead of being perturbed, the precious little lamb channels her vision inward to her third eye, to that space where she can find her higher perceptions. No longer is she the lamb led to slaughter. Now she dwells fully in her space, righteous in her redemption. The swords may hang above, but she wields the more dangerous weapon.

This subduing of the nagging ego will serve well as we take on the serious task of following our true path. We are beseeched by the voices and guides that have watched over us, tracking each move. As we start to listen more deeply to those ancient councils, our mental space will be more open. The tree does not need hands to extend the invitation of the sweet souls that dwell in these branched heavens.

The goal for this week should try to be achieving a connection to the guides. This does not have to be a physical conversation, although it could. Much has been lost in the way of words. The goal is about achieving a revelation, a lyric that has been spoken internally is now drawn out to full poetry. This beautiful symphony of wisdom is now a heartbeat, a rhythmic engagement in the core. This pulse connects you more deeply to what has followed you like a gray shadow, showing you the direction of the sun.

In the shadows, these energies can lead to some heavy extremes. On one hand, the experience of this connection can be so rewarding that it becomes hard to process voice from others, from those not in our head or tribe. This connection can lead to arrogance or defiance. It is important to remember that balance between yourself and what is around you. It is all important to remember that this process can be hard. But the moment when you feel like shutting all those voices in the dark is when you need to listen to them most.

The Dark Moon is here and in Virgo. Pay attention to the details, the soft love given this week from your guides. Now is the time to start looking towards new potentials. In a world of constant buzzing, but no words, it is important to take some time to find stillness, to find the foundation of those who have helped get you here. What do your spirit guides look like? This is the week to pay attention. Everything is moving forward, and if we do not heed the lessons, many things will be forgotten or lost.
